HAGAM Counselling

Counselling offers the opportunity for an individual to explore, through communication with their counsellor, feelings, behaviours and aspects of life which are causing them difficulties or concern. It is a place to discover ways of living more resourcefully and enhance wellbeing.

HAGAM offers short or longer term counselling to people who are struggling with an addiction, either personally or from the perspective of a relative or carer. The sessions take place in a confidential, safe setting either face to face or over the telephone. Usually sessions are offered on a weekly basis with the same counsellor, and last 50 minutes.

At the first session counsellor will discuss with their client what support they want, what HAGAM can offer, and how they wish to use their sessions.

We also offer a telephone counselling service for individuals who are unable to attend our service as a result of their disability, low level of self-esteem, childcare, work and other commitments. The client will need to have a landline telephone for us to call them on, be willing and have the opportunity to dedicate quiet time and space for regular (usually weekly) counselling sessions. When appropriate, clients will be encouraged to come in to HAGAM for a one off assessment session before commencing their telephone counselling. However if this is not possible, they will be offered a telephone assessment.

Please call us on 01895 20 7788 to find out more about our telephone counselling service.

HAGAM’s counselling service is accredited by British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). HAGAM counsellors are experienced and fully trained to help clients work through their addiction problems.
