Current Employment Vacancies

We are pleased to invite applications for the following opportunities;

 

Alcohol Outreach Worker (Job share will be considered)

Tier 2 Project Worker (Job share will be considered)

Salary scale: £21,159 –£25,204 (Dependent on experience)

 

The candidates will have minimum one year’s experience of working directly with substance misusers.

They will engage with those historically identified as harder to reach clients, undertake assessments, facilitate drop-in sessions at base and satellite locations, and offer one-to-one and group support to substance misusers.

Are you a confident person with excellent communication and organisational skills? Do you have a proactive and flexible approach to your work? Do you possess sound knowledge of the issues surrounding drug and alcohol misuse? And finally, are you willing to train as a Complementary Therapist?

If so, we want to hear from you! We particularly welcome applications from speakers of Eastern European languages.

~Volunteering with HAGAM~

Volunteers have been an integral part of HAGAM since 1983, and we really value the contribution our volunteers make in our service.
HAGAM is a BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) accredited agency. We are currently working towards the IiV (Investing in Volunteers) standard.

-VOLUNTEER COUNSELLOR

Due to the demanding nature of this work we are looking for counsellors who are in their final year of a diploma course, or equivalent, and have already had 50 hours of face to face counselling experience.

Drug and alcohol training, supervision and CPD days provided.

-VOLUNTEER RECEPTIONISTS

HAGAM requires punctual and friendly volunteers to join our welcoming team. You will be the first point of contact for HAGAM clients, and will answer telephone enquiries, and assist with some general clerical duties.

This could be an opportunity to re-enter the workplace if you have not worked for a while, to gain experience in administrative work, or to enter the field of health and social care. Above all, you would be contributing to an organisation that offers a valuable service in the community.

We require you to be tactful, diplomatic and capable of dealing with members of the public who may be emotionally distressed or may display challenging behaviour. A clear, friendly, and professional telephone manner and customer care skills are needed.

Previous receptionist experience is not essential, but a positive attitude, good communication skills, an empathic disposition, and a willingness to learn are required. The ability to use a computer and experience of undertaking basic word processing is desirable. We will offer you comprehensive training in all areas of the work, refreshments, and reimbursement of your travel expenses.

-HAGAM COMMITTEE AND TRUSTEES

HAGAM has an experienced trustee body, which forms its Board of Directors. The Board sets the overall direction of the organisation and ensures that it works in an ethical and financially sound manner to deliver its charitable aims.  HAGAM is currently seeking to appoint a number of new Trustees in order to widen the Board’s skill base . We are looking for Trustees from a range of professional backgrounds.

Do you have experience in management, marketing, fundraising, private sector, local or national government, health or social care? Would you be interested in sharing your skills? Can you spare an hour every 6 to 8 weeks for Board meetings? If so, HAGAM would love to hear from you.

HAGAM Trustees do not have any client contact. However, all HAGAM Trustees are expected to have an interest, empathy and understanding for our client group.

Trustee positions are unpaid, but related expenses will be reimbursed.

By providing encouragement and leadership, you will help determine our strategic direction by advising us, when required constructively challenging, and recommending creative solutions to problems. Being a Trustee for HAGAM offers opportunities to;

The total time commitment required is approximately twenty hours per year. A small amount of time in which to contribute so much to such an invaluable cause!
